Abracadabra!
magical movies
Complimenting American Repertory Theater’s upcoming production of “The Tempest” which is co-directed by legendary miming magician Teller, the Brattle is showcasing a series of films featuring stage magic. The repertory features a bevy of tricky pics, from Penn & Teller Get Killed—a 25th anniversary screening—to Christopher Nolan’s Prestige to the unnerving kid’s film Something Wicked Comes This Way.

Eugene Mirman Comedy Fest
funny ha ha
Billed as the world’s first sincere-and-ironic comedy festival, the Eugene Mirman Comedy Fest is coming to Boston for the second year in a row. Mirman will be joined by a myriad of comedic friends such as Wyatt Cenac, Neko Case, Kristen Schaal, John Hodgman, and Bill Nye. The science guy. Yeah, we’re pretty excited, too.

Strip Zeppelin
may queen
The curvy and quick-witted Niki Luparelli takes the stage this Friday for a one night only performance of Strip Zeppelin, a cabaret and burlesque performance all in honor of  Led. (Yes, we are aware that Led isn’t a first name.) Self described (and audience confirmed) as sassy, brassy, and bursting from her bustier, Niki knows how to throw one hell of an Oberon party.

I Wish I Could Eat You Alive
art + americano
Everyone’s favorite (okay, our favorite) coffee shop, Voltage, is hosting Silvi Naci’s solo art show, “I Wish I Could Eat You Alive,” which features over thirty works of various techniques, including copper engravings, copper plates, and drawings. Naci says her work deals largely with human boundaries. Like the line between man and nature. Or in our case, between man and coffee.

Voltage. 295 3rd St., Cambridge. On the walls through SUN 6.8, opening reception FRI 5.16. voltagecoffee.com
